Welcome to The VHS Club 📼

The VHS Club is a video podcast where best friends Katie and Natalie revisit the movies we all grew up with — the classics from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s that practically lived in our VCRs.

What started as a way for us to finally work through our never-ending “must watch” and “must rewatch” movie list quickly turned into something even better: a weekly excuse to hang out, talk movies, and relive some of the most nostalgic films ever made.

Each week we break down a movie, share trivia and behind-the-scenes stories, and ask the important question:

Does it still hold up?

Join the Live Studio Audience

The podcast is recorded LIVE on YouTube every Thursday (OK… most Thursdays) at 9pm Eastern.

Our amazing live audience — affectionately known as the Tater Tots — hangs out with us during the show to share reactions, drop trivia, and submit their official potato ratings for the movie.

You can join the fun by subscribing to our channel and clicking the little bell so you’ll know when we go live. We also take live suggestions for movies to review next! Want to keep up with new episodes, giveaways, movie nights, and more? Make sure you've signed up for our weekly emails.

Wednesday Watch Parties 🍿

Once a month, we host a Wednesday Watch Party where the whole VHS Club gets together to watch a movie in real time.

Think of it like a virtual movie night with friends — everyone presses play together, hangs out in the chat, reacts to the best (and weirdest) moments, and relives the movie like it’s a late-night basement watch party.

Watch parties are free and open to all VHS Club members, and the easiest way to get access is to join our email list

Join the club at https://www.thevhsclubpod.com/email

We'll see you the watch party details, reminders, and everything you need to join the fun.

Why Do You Rate Movies in Potatoes?

Excellent question.

Our “Christian Tater” potato rating system started as a joke between friends.

Katie and Nat are extremely competitive gift givers. One Christmas, Katie mailed Nat a real potato with Christian Slater’s face printed on it. Naturally.

Since then, Christian Tater has become something of a mascot for the show. And if you’re going to rate movies… why not do it with potatoes?

So every movie gets a rating from:

🥔 to 🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔

Want to One-Up Your Best Friend?

If you'd like to start your own ridiculous gift tradition, you can actually mail someone a potato at Potato Parcel.

Highly recommended.
