This week on The VHS Club, we're celebrating #pridemonth by rewatching one of our favorites, The Birdcage. Robin Williams and Nathan Lane are pure gold in this nineties movie about a gay cabaret owner and his drag queen companion who pretend to be straight when meeting their son's fiancée's family.

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist," Kint (Kevin Spacey). We've been promising Kimberly that we'd review this one forever now, so we're finally crossing it off the list. If you haven't seen The Usual Suspects yet, dust off that VHS player and grab some popcorn because this one is epic. Kevin Spacey plays Kint, the sole survivor of a failed heist. Kint tells the story of the events leading up to the deaths of his partners. Don't do a Google search before you start watching because this one is twisty turny and you'll definitely end up with #spoilers

Released in 1994 and featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis, this one has spies, terrorists, secret agents, and a neglected wife. It's a Marvel movie about vampires. It's gritty and dark and action-packed. This week on The VHS Club, we're reviewing Blade. Starring Wesley Snipes, N'Bushe Wright, and Stephen Dorff, and co-directed by Guillermo del Toro (really?), this film was touted as Marvel's first successful superhero flick. Are you ready? It's time for the Moulin Rouge episode. This episode wraps up our deep dive into Baz Luhrmann's "Red Curtain Trilogy", which includes Strictly Ballroom, Romeo & Juliet, and Moulin Rouge. Unlike the other two in this trilogy, Moulin Rouge is a musical. It stars Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. We're joined by special guest, Mark Pesce from If These Balls Could Talk so it's going to be a good one!

Strictly Ballroom is Baz Luhrmann's directorial debut and part of the "Red Curtain Triology." An Australian romantic comedy that takes place among ballroom dancers and competition, it's a seriously sweet film that we hope you love as much as we do.

This time on The VHS Club, we're reviewing one of the most iconic 90s movies, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet. Released in 1996 and featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes, it not only brought Shakespeare's timeless romantic tragedy into the 90s, but also launched the careers of both of its main actors.
